WHAT YOU VISIT
Shamwari Villa Lobengula Lodge
Located just 46 miles from Port Elizabeth, the 44,475-acre reserve has been voted the World's Leading Safari and Game Reserve. And tucked away in the depths of the bushveld lies the tranquil Lobengula Lodge. This private lodge experience has been designed to resemble a traditional African kraal, boasting views of the mountains and valleys. Stretched along the Bushman's River, the Shamwari Private Reserve is steeped in settler history and dates back to the time when game roamed freely in the Eastern Cape. Winner of a number of international awards for its efforts in conservation coupled with tourism, Shamwari has a wildlife research team to ensure an ecological balance on this reclaimed piece of wilderness. Here, the famous Big 5, as well as an African big cat rescue center and one of the best wildlife rehabilitation facilities, can be seen in a malaria-free environment.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
An African safari is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for photographers. A long lens is a must for capturing the animals and birdlife, and remember to pack a charger, spare battery and extra memory cards. It is also helpful to bring zip-lock bags to protect your equipment from dust. Don't forget to take a few pictures of family and friends as well as the wildlife.

MEALS
Day One: Lunch, high and dinner served at the lodge.
Day Two: Breakfast, lunch and high tea at the lodge; sundowner drinks and dinner at a surprise location.
Day Three: Breakfast served at the lodge and a box lunch will be served on your flight to Durban.
