What you will visit:

Pumba Game Reserve
Pumba Private Game Reserve is set against the backdrop of the Eastern Cape's beautiful landscape of thornveldt, grassland, thicket and forest. The Pumba Private Game Reserve invites you to experience the essence of ultimate African luxury and style. It covers more than 14 000 acres of land and offers the thrilling experience of spotting the Big Five in a natural environment. Pumba covers five of the seven local biomes, and is the first of the Eastern Cape Game reserves to introduce a white lion breeding program. Upon arrival at the lodge, enjoy a welcome drink and meet your game ranger; then set out for a game viewing drive in an open vehicle. The Conservation Manger will tell you about the rehabilitation program at the leopard enclosure. With a little luck you might encounter lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, white rhino, giraffe, zebra, hippo, cheetah, warthog, hyena and wild dogs. For bird-lovers there are more 300 different species of birds. After a three-hour game viewing experience you will arrive at the Safari Lodge, where you will enjoy lunch with the Conservation Manager. You can't take the beauty of Africa back to the ship with you, but you will always treasure the marvelous memories of your day at Pumba.

Photo opportunities:
An African safari is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for photographers. A long lens is a must for capturing the animals and birdlife, and remember to pack a charger, spare battery and extra memory cards. It is also helpful to bring ziplock bags to protect your equipment from dust. Don't forget to take a few pictures of family and friends as well as the wildlife.
Lunch:
After your exhilarating three-hour game viewing experience, arrive at the Safari Lodge, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch with the conservation manager.

Special Notes:

Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
This tour is not suitable for guests in wheelchairs and those with walking difficulties, as they will not be able to climb onto the 4x4 open vehicles. Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended.
The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game-drive can be bumpy. Not recommended for passengers with back problems. For safety reasons, no children under the age of 6 years allowed on the open vehicles. Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives.
