Description
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Board your motorcoach for a scenic drive to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
Then it's up, up and away on a soaring flight over the rainforest's magnificent canopy. The Skyrail spans 4 1/2 miles over pristine tropical rain forest. Glide above the treetops in a 6-person gondola cabin that also descends through the forest's layers. Your aerial trip offers stunning views of the rainforest's flora and fauna and panoramic vistas of the Cairns tropical region and the glittering waters of the Coral Sea. You will have the opportunity to get off at the stations along the way so that you can explore the rainforest independently along paved walkways.
The charming village of Kuranda, located in the rainforest on the Atherton Tableland, is a wonderful place to visit. Stop into the Visitors Information Center to learn more about the region and the many activities and attractions available to you. Peruse the colorful shops, art galleries, and craft displays. Then treat yourself to lunch at one of the village's many cafés (additional cost). Be sure to shop for Australian-themed souvenirs; many one-of-a-kind items and handmade crafts can be found.
Your next adventure has you riding the rails on a vintage railway car. Under construction from 1882 to 1891, the Kuranda Scenic Railway connects Cairns with the Atherton Tablelands. Climb aboard this extraordinary railway and thrill to the exciting ride that traverses through the Kuranda Mountains, passing magnificent waterfalls, crossing 37 bridges, and traveling through 15 tunnels in the Barron Gorge National Park. The views are incredible as you ride this historic passage.
At the completion of your tour, enjoy a motorcoach ride back to port.
