Enjoy a leisurely six-hour tour around the Panama Canal in a deluxe 1938 air-conditioned dome car. After boarding your air-conditioned transportation you'll make the short drive to the train station at Colon. Here, you'll board your unique dome car that features an upper deck with full-length observation windows and booth seating. Then, you'll leave the Colon station for an approximately one hour train trip to the Pacific terminus of the Panama Canal, passing Gatun Lake and the isthmus' dense rainforest. During your railroad journey, you guide will provide commentary on the railroad, Panamanian history, and the canal. When your train arrives at Panama City's station, you'll transfer to the Aqua Clara Visitor Center. At the end of this fascinating adventure, you'll return to the pier.

Special Notes:

There are no preassigned seats and capacity is limited. The train may operate one way or round-trip depending upon prior train schedule. If one way, the return is by air-conditioned transportation on the new 4-lane highway. The drive back to the ship is approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

The Panama Canal Authority assigns specific time slots for the transit of a vessel through the locks. The ship will anchor in a designated area and will wait for instructions. Once clearance is transmitted to the ship, procedures begin to bring ship's tour passengers ashore. Therefore, tour departure times may vary and will be announced onboard. The return time of the ship to Colon or Cristobal may also be delayed due to transit through the locks. We recommend that you are prepared for any potential of delay in the ship's arrival to Colon or Cristobal and plan accordingly by bringing any needed medication or essential items on tour.

Depending on the voyage and itinerary guests will be dropped off in either Colon or Cristobal. Due to World Youth Day 2019 events, the tour will not include a stop at Fuerte Amador. The tour duration will be reduced to 4 ½ hours.
