Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Oslo's varied architectural styles, small population and eco-friendly community make cycling one of the best ways to see the sights.

Your three-hour sightseeing tour begins with a short walk from the pier to the bike center, where you'll meet your knowledgeable guide and take part in a safety briefing. Don your helmet and set off caravan style on a leisurely cycle through this bike-friendly city. Although the tour is planned to avoid as much car traffic as possible, there will be some places that you encounter motorized vehicles. You will mostly bike along car-free paths, parks, hidden back streets, and the beautiful fjord. There is plenty of time for stops and photo opportunities, and no specific fitness level is required.

Your route may vary, but highlights typically include architectural masterpieces, historic castles and artistically manicured parks. You may see the Parliament building, for example, with its two imposing lion statues at the main entrance, and Oslo's City Hall, a modern architectural landmark that houses the city council. The National Theater is Norway's principal venue for the performing arts, and the Royal Palace is an elegant showpiece of neo-classical design dramatically situated on a rise surrounded by gardens. The medieval Akershus Castle dates back to 1299, and no tour would be complete without a tool around Frogner Park, the biggest park in Oslo and home to Vigeland Sculpture Park, Oslo's most visited attraction.

The inspiring Vigeland Sculpture Park, the largest sculpture park in the world created by one single artist, covers 80 acres and was designed by renowned Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland, who created the 200 and some iron and bronze statues. The sculptures artistically depict a complete human lifecycle.

You'll also have an opportunity to travel Oslo's lovely fjord-side cycle paths, inaccessible by other modes of transportation.

At the conclusion of your tour, circle back to the bike center, bid farewell to your friendly guide and walk the short distance back to the ship.

Special Notes:

The bike ride is mostly flat except for a couple of short inclines. Total distance is about 11 km (7 miles). This tour will require a waiver to be signed onboard.
