WHAT YOU WILL VISIT:
Ring of Brodgar:
The last of the great Neolithic monuments built on the ness, the Ring of Brodgar is an iconic site that represents Orkney's ancient heritage. Part of the Heart of Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site, the monument's age is uncertain, but it is assumed that this enormous ceremonial site, with 27 of the original 60 stones, dates to the third millennium B.C.

Skara Brae:
The best-preserved prehistoric settlement in Northern Europe and a significant UNESCO World Heritage Site, Skara Brae is a 5,000-year-old Neolithic village, beautifully preserved and interpreted in a brand-new visitor center. Built before both the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge, Skara Brae was a thriving village in its day. In 1850, a fierce storm swept through the Isle of Orkney, decimating the Skara Brae sand dune and uncovering the cluster of stone dwellings. The visitor center provides an interactive museum a gift shop and a café.
Skaill House:
Orkney's finest manor house, Skaill House overlooks the Bay of Skaill. This 17th-century mansion was built in 1620 for Bishop George Graham but has been the family home of the Laird's of Skaill since. Each room has a story to tell, and a walk through its halls takes you back in time as you view Captain Cook's dinner service, a collection of Stanley Cursiter paintings and even a number of restless spirits rumored to roam the halls.

WHAT YOU WILL SEE ALONG THE WAY:
Scapa Flow
Linking the North Sea to the Atlantic, this renowned stretch of water, a top diving site, has been used by ships for centuries, and it played an important role in both World Wars as a natural harbor protecting the British naval fleet.

The Standing Stones of Stenness:
Pronounced 'Stane-is' and towering at 19 feet tall, the Standing Stones of Stenness are the oldest hedge monument in the British Isles. Laid out in an ellipse formation, the four remaining stones date back to 3300 B.C. The ring originally held 12 stones with a large hearth in the interior.
