What you will visit:
Brinkburn Street Brewery
This small, independent brewery has a passion for creating locally brewed beers with a story behind each one of them. Blends carry commemorative names like the refreshing golden session ale Canny Sculler, honoring famed rower Harry Clasper, who pioneered sculling on the Tyne River, and Geordie Pagoda, a nod to the Oriental-Gothic style pagodas that decorate the roof of the brewery offices. Brinkburn Street Brewery prides itself on its bold ideas and the use of the best ingredients to create brilliant beers. Exclusive tours of the brewing process are led by brewmaster Richard Bazen (or lead brewer Stew), followed by a half-pint of one of their fabulous creations.

What you will see along the way:
Gaze out the motorcoach window as the pretty and historic city of Newcastle goes by. You'll delight in views of the city bridges, the quayside shopping and entertainment district, Grainger Town's elegant 19th-century sandstone buildings, and St. Nicholas Cathedral. Admire the monument to Earl Grey, the Theatre Royal, and remnants of the city walls and castle. Cross the river to the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and conclude with a stop at the 'Angel of the North,' a wonderful steel sculpture.
Photo Opportunity:
Grey's Monument (seen from the motorcoach)
Dedicated to anti-slavery crusader Earl Grey, this monument was erected in 1838 and stands 131 feet (40 meters) high, an impressive focal point of the city center.

Angel of the North
British sculptor Antony Gormley's 'Angel of the North' statue, a rich rust color from the weathering steel, rises 65 feet (20 meters), dominating the skyline. It is made from 200 tons of steel, has an incredible wingspan of 177 feet (54 meters) and can withstand winds of more than 100 mph.

Tasting:
Sip a pint of one of Brinkburn Street Brewery's most popular brews while you learn about the inventive names of its products--each one is a nod to a local story. Brewmaster Richard Bazen's more than 30 years' experience is reflected in the quality, taste and originality of each sip. Cheers!.
