A spectacular full-day adventure awaits that takes in both the wonders of the Amalfi Coast and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii. Your tour begins in Naples, where you'll settle in for a scenic 2.5-hour ride along the Amalfi Coast. Your first stop begins with a 60-minute stroll to Amalfi's main square, where you'll have 45 minutes to explore the town or visit the striking Amalfi Cathedral (admission at your own expense). After the visit to Amalfi, enjoy a motorboat ride to another village of the Amalfi Coast, where you will reboard your bus. Next, it's a 90-minute drive to Pompeii to explore the archaeological excavations of a lost city buried deep beneath the ash when Mt. Vesuvius violently erupted in 79 A.D. Your knowledgeable guide discusses the remarkably preserved remains that hint at daily life and customs. On your return, stop at a cameo factory to peruse the intricate works of art for sale. Return to port after this exceptional day. During your visit, enjoy Lunch at a local restaurant and savor authentic southern Italian cuisine.

Special Notes:

From November through May, the Pompeii excavations close early; therefore, the routing of the tour may be altered and the photo stop for the Bay of Sorrento will not be done.

The vessel used may vary in size and capacity, and have inside or outside seating.

Due to traffic restrictions on the Amalfi Coast, this tour cannot be operated on pre-holidays and holidays. This tour will not be offered to Pacific Princess calls.

Due to local regulations and restrictions, an alternate stop on the Amalfi Coast (Minori, Maiori or Vietri sul Mare) will be made should a parking space not be available in Amalfi.

The drive from Naples to the Amalfi Coast takes approximately two hours; the drive from Pompeii to Naples takes approximately 30 minutes. Roads on the Amalfi Coast are narrow and winding. Passengers who suffer from motion sickness should take this into consideration.

Admission to the Amalfi Cathedral is extra. Please dress conservatively. (No bare shoulders or shorts and mini-skirts.)

Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.

For security reasons, it is forbidden to enter inside Pompeii excavations with big bags, backpacks or trolleys. Please be aware that, since lockers are not available, it is recommended to leave them inside the coach..
