What you will visit:
Mt. Vesuvius (hiking tour)
Hike to the summit of this still-active volcano that buried Pompeii in 79 A.D. Begin at the 3,000-foot level of Mt. Vesuvius, where you'll proceed on foot along a steep gravel path to the volcano's crater at approximately 4,200 feet. You'll feel the energy of this active volcano as you walk across hardened lava where crevices still exude fumes and heat. The hike takes approximately 40 minutes to walk roundtrip. You'll have about two hours total at the Mt. Vesuvius site. It's a vigorous experience that pays off with stunning views of Naples and its bay. This tour includes extensive walking on an uphill surface with rough terrain.
Local Vineyard
A scenic vineyard located on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius welcomes guests with an informative tour that introduces the geologic conformation of Vesuvius slopes, the rare characteristics of volcanic soil and a marvelous microclimate that come together in one of Italy's most interesting wine producing regions. Step inside the cellars for insight into the process by which the grapes are turned into the vintner's liquid creations. Fine, locally produced wines are available for purchase, and credit cards are accepted.

Relax on your scenic 45-minute drive south along the Autostrada with magnificent views of the vast sweep of blue that is the stunning Bay of Naples as you gaze out expectantly for spectacular Mt. Vesuvius to come into view.

Find a beautiful keepsake souvenir at a local cameo factory. Here, skilled artisans apply techniques handed down for generations, intricately carving seashells and coral into beautiful jewelry and true works of art.

Please wear proper footwear and clothes. The height of Mt. Vesuvius summit is approximately 1,281 meters (4,200 feet).Bring water, sunblock, head cover.
This tour includes extensive walking and uphill surface with rough terrain during the visit of Mt. Vesuvius.
Should Mt. Vesuvius be closed due to adverse weather conditions, an orientation drive of Naples will be made instead.
Wine is available for purchase at the winery where credit cards are accepted. The tour may operate in reverse order and visit the Cameo Factory first.
