What you will visit:
Captivating Monterey is one of California's most gorgeous coastal cities. Known for its spectacular shoreline, Monterey delights inland as well with a plethora of historic buildings, a world-class aquarium, wonderful museums and the iconic Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row with their salty charm straight out of a John Steinbeck novel. Alvarado Street is the downtown area's "main drag," lined with unique shops, trendy restaurants dishing up the popular specialties sanddabs and artichokes, and lively bars serving wines from local vineyards. And nearby, Carmel, the famous 17-Mile Drive, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach add a ritzy glow to Monterey's patina. The Monterey Peninsula has the largest population of sea otters on the California coast plus additional marine life best seen from one of two piers and a breakwater that offer excellent viewing of seals, sea lions and migrating whales, which can be seen offshore in the spring and fall months.
What you will see along the way:
Monterey County has been the setting for nearly 200 movies. Your customized motorcoach winds its way past Colton Hall, seen in the Sandra Dee drama, A Summer Place, and continues along Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row, serving as the backdrop for some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Clint Eastwood and Marylyn Monroe. Gaze across Monterey Bay, where many pirate films were shot, and spy The Lodge at Pebble Beach, a glamorous backdrop for classic hits and current favorites. Experience Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, Carmel and the spectacular 17-Mile Drive, where the biggest star of all is the natural beauty of Monterey's magnificent landscapes.
