Skim through the trees, soaking up the sights and sounds of the Jamaican rainforest. The Rainforest Sky Explorer employs a state-of-the-art chairlift to ascend 700 feet through the canopy for ever-changing views of lush green vegetation, colorful birds and dramatic seascapes. Anticipation builds as you glide along to your disembarkation point on Mystic Mountain, the site of multiple attractions. A short walk away from the educational pavilion and its interactive exhibits is the Bobsled Jamaica attraction, designed to honor the Olympic glory of the 1988 and 1992 Jamaican bobsled teams.

The stainless steel track was laid with care so that the natural landscape would be preserved. It curves around ancient trees, clings to lofty cliff faces and dives through leafy tunnels of dense rainforest. You control your own descent with an in-sled handbrake, allowing for a leisurely tour or an all-out adrenaline rush reaching speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. As you glide to a gentle stop, your bobsled will be slowly raised on an elevated tramway and brought back to the top. It takes about 10 minutes to complete the circuit. Along the way, your ride is caught on film and the photos are available later for purchase.

The adventure continues back on top of the mountain. Here you can climb the lookout tower at the picturesque relica of a Jamaican Railway Station, reminiscent of the early 1900s, then shop for souvenirs and enjoy a tasty Jamaican lunch. You can even indulge in a refreshing swim in the infinity pool that hugs the edge of the tropical hillside. When it is time to depart Mystic Mountain, simply hop a ride on the Sky Explorer chairlift back to the bottom where your transportation will be waiting to take you back to the ship in Montego Bay.

Special Notes:

A liability waiver is required for this tour. Time permitting additional bobsled rides can be purchased at the park. The minimum height required to ride the bobsled unaccompanied by an adult is 48 inches, not 54 inches as stated in the tour book. Bobsleds are enclosed, seat one person, and reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. Tour sequence may vary. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel if you plan to swim in the pool. The drive to Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios takes approximately 90 minutes.
