Begin the day with a scenic one-hour drive from port to the Côte d'Azur's capital, taking in the breathtaking views and delightful seaside resorts that are found in either direction along the area known as the Golden Corniche.

One of the oldest cities in the western Mediterranean, Nice exhibits evidence that the area was inhabited for millennia before the Greeks established a colony here in 350 B.C. A beloved vacation destination since the 18th century, Nice is also noted for its spectacular scenery and lighting, which has lured such great painters as Matisse, Chagall and Picasso to its shores. Nice continues to be a haven for culture buffs and is home to the Museum of Modern Art.

The Hop On Hop Off bus has 14 stops, so you can explore at your own pace. Audio commentary is provided while you are on the bus. As you drive through the city, it is easy to see why it has earned the nickname "Nice la Belle," which means "Nice the Beautiful," and its abundance of European charm certainly earns the name.

Revel in this leisurely journey through winding streets, past Nice Cathedral or on to Castle Hill Park for incredible views of the city and the bay. For an authentic experience of city life, stop at Cours Saleya. Discover Place Rossetti, located in the heart of the Old Town, a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with candy-colored façades, shop and restaurants, the perfect place to try salad Nicoise, the green salad topped with tuna or anchovy that was created in Nice. Or make for the Promenade des Anglais to soak up the colorful beachfront atmosphere.

At the conclusion of this day exploring Nice at your own pace, meet the motorcoach at the designated time and relax on the picturesque ride back to port.
