Description
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Your tour begins as you board your taxi for a short drive to the Continuity of Life monument, Mazatlán's largest monument that represents life's continuity in harmony with nature.
Together with your guide, you'll walk along the scenic shoreline, passing Cerro de Neveria, home to Diver's Point. Here, you'll view daring high-flying divers perform acrobatic and dangerous plunges into rocky surf from a 59-foot high ledge.
Leaving the shoreline, you'll walk into old Mazatlan, traveling the narrow streets of the historic district to Teatro Angela Peralta and past the House of Music. Originally built from 1869 to 1874, the Teatro was named for a famous diva and completely restored from 1987 to 1992.
You'll enjoy a complimentary beverage in a café before continuing to the main plaza, site of the Post Office and the 19th-century Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Outside, large white sculptures of St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke, and St. John stand at each of the four corner entrances. Looming over the apostles, the cathedral's twin towers and their outer domes are adorned with European yellow tiles. Inside, the cathedral is furnished with a collection of baroque altars, gold leaf decorated murals, crystal chandeliers, religious sculptures, and an organ specially built in Paris.
Your walking tour ends at a local restaurant to enjoy a beverage along with some chips and salsa, while waiting for the taxis transport directly to the pier. Passengers remaining in town to shop are responsible to return to the pier on their own.
