Travel into the past and into the stratosphere with visits to two of the city's most iconic sites. From the pier, you'll travel through LA's bustling streets to the La Brea Tar Pits, the world's only active, metropolitan Ice Age excavation site. Outside, you can see tar that has seeped up from the ground over tens of thousands of years. Inside, you can encounter some of the Earth's most awe-inspiring mammals and discover how humans shared the frozen tundra with beasts during the "Titans of the Ice Age 3D" film. Then, get your head in the stars with a stop at the Griffith Observatory. Play astronomer with hands-on exhibits that will spark imagination and peak your curiosity through exposure to the awe and wonder inherent in astronomy. There are a number of exhibit halls that focus on unique aspects of observation plus an extensive array of space and science-related displays
