What you will visit:

Veragua Rainforest Eco Adventure
A world-class facility designed to enlighten and educate on the biodiversity of the Costa Rican Rainforest, Veragua Rainforest is surrounded by the largest and least explored national park in Central America, La Amistad (Friendship). Ride on an aerial tram to admire 300-year-old trees and enjoy fantastic endless views of the rainforest as you descend the mountain onto the river bank, where you will disembark and have your choice of activities. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the "Trail of the Giants," so named for the gigantic trees that line the trails, or hike to the two-tiered Puma Waterfall. Then visit snake, frog and butterfly exhibits and an authentic research laboratory.

Tortuguero Canals
Board a jungle pontoon boat specially designed to cruise comfortably and quietly through the famed Tortuguero Canals, known as the Caribbean's Amazon due to the surrounding rainforest. The heavy annual rainfall nourishes the area with a wealth of flora and fauna. As you glide along the canals, you'll pass gorgeous orchids and water lilies. A knowledgeable guide will explain the rainforest ecosystem and point out sights of interest which are part of a river system that runs parallel to Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast.

What you will see along the way:
Costa Rica's topography is one of the most diverse in the world. The pontoon boat for a journey along the peaceful Tortuguero Canals offers one of the most lively landscapes in Costa Rica, showcasing more than 400 species of trees, 2,000 species of other plants, 60 species of amphibians and abundant birdlife. The Veragua Rainforest Eco Adventure is a private reserve protecting 3,400 acres of primary and secondary tropical forest. Keep an eye open for toucans, shy sloths and energetic howler monkeys.

Special Notes:

Refresh during your day with lunch at the Rainforest Cafeteria. Sample menu includes chicken, rice and beans, steamed vegetables, plantains, and fresh seasonal fruit.
