Puerto Limón
The province of Limón covers an area of approximately 14,702 square miles, with a total population of 169,000. Your scenic drive passes Cieneguita, the oldest part of Limón, constructed by the country's first settlers, who built homes on stilts as protection from the heavy rains. Drive alongside the international airport into the countryside for views of the lush rainforest vegetation and expansive banana and cacao plantations and view the Tortuguero canals, one of the main natural attractions of the region.
