What you will visit:

Rainforest Aerial Tram
Journey to a research facility near Braulio Carrillo National Park, where you'll glide through the canopy in an aerial tram, with intimate views of the forest from the treetops. The rainforest canopy is home to abundant wildlife and to two thirds of Costa Rica's rainforest species. Towering trees, giant ferns, bursts of color, and birdlife make up a large part of this incredible hanging garden. A naturalist guide will accompany you on your ride, explaining the delicate balance of the rainforest and pointing out the wildlife within this intricate ecosystem.

Tortuguero Canals
Board a jungle pontoon boat specially designed to cruise comfortably and quietly through the famed Tortuguero Canals, known as the Caribbean's Amazon due to the surrounding rainforest. The heavy annual rainfall nourishes the area with a wealth of flora and fauna. As you glide along the canals, you'll pass gorgeous orchids and water lilies. A knowledgeable guide will explain the rainforest ecosystem and point out sights of interest which are part of a river system that runs parallel to Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast.

What you will see along the way:
Board your air-conditioned transportation for an approximately three-hour drive to the rainforest tram site located near Braulio Carrillo National Park with views of banana, pineapple and palm-oil plantations along the way. From the aerial tram, take in a bird's-eye view of this formerly inaccessible area. From the Tortuguero Canals, explore the wetlands ecosystem and wildlife, which might include howler monkeys, sloths, toucans and other exotic fauna and flora.

Special Notes:

Tour sequence may vary. Wildlife sightings, while common, are not guaranteed. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots. Bring a hat, rain gear, camera, and binoculars. Please note that there are no restroom facilities on the canal boat.
