What you will visit:

Cahuita National Park
One of the most accessible national parks in the Caribbean south of Costa Rica, Cahuita consists of 2,732 acres of land and 55,200 marine acres. Spectacular nature trails showcase incredibly dense and lush natural vegetation and a wide variety of animal life including sloths, howler monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, and more, plus an abundance of birdlife. A naturalist guide will share relevant information about the flora and fauna. Hiking shoes are advised, as the trails are unpaved and uneven.

Ara Manzanillo

The great green macaw is protected and rehabilitated at this nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation efforts since 2009. Its mission is to reintroduce rescued great green macaws, classified as a critically endangered species, into the wild. The Manzanillo field station, located 328 feet (100 meters) above sea level, is an excellent lookout point with spectacular views of the sea and the rainforest. Your guide will point out the great green macaws, flying free, as well as three different species of toucans and other colorful birdlife.

What you will see along the way:
Costa Rica's topography is one of the most diverse in the world. Rolling hills, high mountains, plains, valleys and riverbeds are just some of the gorgeous landscapes you'll see during your drive to Cahuita National Park. Travel through this stunning scenery and past emblematic rural towns, plantations, sugarcane fields, and examples of sustainable living between man and nature.
