Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Immerse yourself in the cultural traditions of the South Seas on a half-day adventure that begins when you travel to an upscale resort to enjoy a lovely morning or afternoon tea followed by an authentic Fijian meke performance. Music plays an important role in Fijian customs, and this traditional song and dance showcases tales of love and lore, culminating in Fiji's most famous love song, Isa Lei. Next, prepare to be amazed by the mysterious world of fire walking. Warriors in colorful garb display their weapons and costumes before preparing the coals for the fire walking demonstration. Feel the intensity of the heat rising as a Sawau tribesman from the south side of Beqa Island impresses you with his ability to walk over smoldering white-hot stones without injury or distress. It's a feat you really must witness to believe. At the conclusion of this culturally enriching day, relax on the scenic drive back to port.

Special Notes:

Bring bottled water. Wear comfortable walking shoes and lightweight clothing. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen; bring a hat. Use of the resort's swimming pool is not included in this tour. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. This option is available to guests who are returning to the ship.
