Sitting at the southern end of the Baja peninsula, Todos Santos, like La Paz, is unspoiled and peaceful. Nestled at the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, the sleepy town of Todos Santos (Spanish for "all saints") is an alluring desert oasis overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunscreen and don't forget to bring along a camera to record your memorable visit.

Your day of adventure begins as you board your air-conditioned transportation for a ride down Pichilingue Highway. During your 75-minute journey, your friendly English-speaking guide will share his knowledge of Baja as you sit back and enjoy the ever-changing panorama. As you travel along the eastern coast of Baja you'll no doubt marvel at the spectacular multicolored hues of sea and sky. Then, as you journey southwest into the heart of the peninsula you'll drive through a stark desert landscape that is full of spiny cactus and inhabited by hawks, coyotes, pumas and roadrunners. As you approach Todos Santos on Baja's western coast, you'll be captivated by the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, swaying palm trees, and rolling hillsides covered in acres of mango groves, avocado, papaya and mango orchards.

Founded as a mission in 1724 by Jesuit priests, Todos Santos later became a major sugar cane producer in the 19th century. Many of the homes and buildings built with the wealth of sugar cane profits can still be seen around town. You'll step off your transportation at the zocalo, or main square, and begin your guided tour of the stone paved streets of the historic district. One of the sights you'll visit is the Nuestra Señora el Pilar de La Paz. Founded in 1723, this simple Mission contains the statue of the Virgin of Pilar, the town's patron saint.

Next, you can browse the quaint shops and art galleries before heading for a snack at the beautiful Hotel California. Founded in 1947, the hotel has recently been remodeled and the flower filled patio is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a Mexican sampler snack.

And before the lovely visit in to this magic town ends, we'll walk in to one of the colorful and well recognized Art Gallery, where you can admire the artists work.

As your exciting day comes to an end, you'll return to your transportation (perhaps carrying bags filled with arts and crafts) for the relaxing ride back to your ship.
