One of the best ways to get to know a country and its people is to venture out of the city and into the countryside. During your half-day excursion not only will you see how villagers lived hundreds of years ago but you can also enjoy a variety of tasty dishes and be entertained by a lively cultural performance.

You'll want to wear comfortable shoes and bring along a camera to capture each intriguing image to share with all your family and friends back home.

Your adventure begins at the pier as you board your coach. Sit back and relax as you make your way through the city. Have your camera handy as you travel past one of the city's most stunning examples of Islamic architecture. The majestic Kota Kinabalu City Mosque may look like it belongs on the pages of an ancient storybook but it's a recent addition to the city. Stretching out over two acres on a man-made lagoon, the City Mosque appears to float above the peaceful waters. Built in 2000, the city's largest mosque features a prayer hall that can hold up to 12,000 worshippers.

Then, you'll leave the city behind and make your way out into the lush countryside.
Once you arrive a friendly and knowledgeable guide will lead you through this open-air museum, a living testament to Borneo's ancient history.

As you make your way through the village, you'll have the opportunity to walk into their homes and see how the women cook their meals using bamboo.

A stroll around the grounds reveals a number of surprises, too. Learn how the men once used the blowgun to hunt and discover the ancient symbolism behind tribal tattoos during fascinating demonstrations.

This unforgettable experience continues with a dance ceremony accompanied by music followed by a few samplings of freshly made food.

Once you've completed this amazing journey of sight, sound and taste, you'll board the coach and return to the pier enlightened and charmed by this unforgettable experience.

Special Notes:
