Departing from your ship, you'll board your motorcoach for a relaxing drive as you travel along the Penampang-Papar old road to scenic Lok Kawi Zoological Park.
Developed by Sabah's Wildlife and Forestry Departments this, 280-acre park showcases the country's diverse wildlife. The Park actually covers both the wildlife and botanical aspects of Borneo. You could stroll through the park along the mile-long walkway. But most likely, you'll want to spend your free time here viewing the beautiful animals that are native to the area.
Here you'll find such endangered animals such as Borneo Pygmy Elephants and Borneo Sun Bears, as well as the well loved Orang Utan and Proboscis Monkey, with its very unusual nose. You won't want to miss the spectacular tigers and assortment of native birds, including the hornbill, either.
Returning to your motorcoach, you'll next travel to the KDCA Cultural Village located just 30 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu City. Nestled at the famous 'Hongkod Koisaan' or 'Unity Hall' in the Penampang district, the KDCA Cultural Village offers an insight into the various ethnic tribesin Sabah. Try the famous 'Borneo trampoline' or better known as 'Lansaran'. Enjoy various demonstrations such as fire-making using bamboo, beads-making, tattoo art, rice-wine sampling, process of making blow-pipe and enjoy some local ethnic games. This visitalso offers you the opportunity to see and experience the culture and lifestyle of how the indigenous ethnic groups used to live in the olden days.
After an adventure filled with wild animals and rich native heritage, it'll be time to re-board your motorcoach for the scenic ride back through the city to your ship.
Special Notes:
Guest will expected to walk up/down on the house's staircase and also walk pass to a short hanging bridge heading to the Murut house. Wear light clothing, proper walking shoes/sandals. Bring sunscreen, hat, camera and local currency. Tourist is NOT ALLOWED to feed the animals at the Zoological Park.Sightings of wildlife at Lok Kawi Zoological Park depends on animals as they were displaced and rescued before brought here.
