Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Departing from your ship, you'll board your motorcoach for a relaxing drive through the city that lets you see some of its highlights.

As you travel, you'll pass by the Atkinson Clock Tower. This enduring landmark, built in 1902, has distinction of being the oldest standing structure in the whole of Sabah that survived the air raids and blitz of World War II.

You'll get to pause for photos at both the Tun Mustapha Tower and the City Mosque, both memorable structures. The 30-story circular glass and steel Tower is one of only three buildings in the world constructed in this "suspended" manner. It's the second tallest building on the island. Inside is an auditorium, two mini-theatres, exhibition foyer, a gymnasium, kindergarten and Research library.

You'll visit at the magnificent Sabah Museum, a showcase of Sabah's rich cultural heritage. It's one of the best places to learn about the indigenous culture as well as view weapons and more. The flagship Sabah Museum Complex sits on over 40 acres of lush green natural and planted jungle and is located at Old Palace Hill (Bukit Istana Lama), and its architecture was inspired by traditional island structures. What makes this museum even more unique is the variety of experiences available in one place: the museum proper, and a Heritage Village. Within the Heritage Village, you'll also find a number of traditional buildings including the Skull Hut and native houses of varied architectural designs.

Complete your Kota Kinabalu experience with a short stop at the Handicraft Market for some local souveniers hunting before returning to the ship.

Special Notes:

The Heritage Village in the Sabah Museum undergoes maintenance work from time to time to replace materials. Work schedule and progress of work depends on the weather and availability of materials during the time of work. Photo Taking is now allowed inside the museum main building but strictly NO Flash.

Tour timeline may vary to avoid overcrowding, etc.
