Imagine perfection - so many scenic and historic attractions in one full-day tour by land and sea! You'll enjoy a panoramic drive to one landmark after another and then set sail aboard spacious catamaran for a scenic lunch cruise complete with historical narration and live Hawaiian-style music. Your tour begins as you board your motorcoach and set off for a look at historical Kona, where King Kamehameha spent his final years and a view of lovely Kealakekua Bay, where the famous explorer, Captain Cook met his fate. Along this expansive area, you'll find everything from coffee farms to historic Hawaiian landmarks.

Historic Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona) is a bustling, gathering place in the heart of the district. Home to shops, restaurants and nightlife, your guide will point out storied places like Hulihee Palace, Mokuaikaua Church and the Ahuena Heiau. Other significant historic places include Kealakekua Bay to the south, where Captain James Cook first set foot on the island in 1778 and where he was eventually killed.

Shielded from winds by Mauna Loa, south Kona's calm and clear waters are perfect for snorkeling, diving and spotting dolphins and honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles). Another highlight is a stop at Royal Kona Coffee in Holualoa, where you can sample the distinctive flavors of 100% Kona coffee and shop for a souvenir of your trip.

You'll then arrive at Puuhonua-O-Honaunau, or "Place of Refuge". This beautifully maintained National Historical Park played a very special part in the lives of ancient Hawaiians. It was a refuge where absolution would be granted for law breakers and vanquished warriors if they were fortunate enough to keep ahead of their pursuers. Today, the park features attractive grounds and interesting displays of Hawaiian history. From there you will visit St. Benedict's, the "Painted Church", known for its dramatic murals.

Your motorcoach will return you to the cruise ship pier for your historical lunch cruise along the Kona coastline. Board your 65' catamaran and step back in time as the onboard historian points out Kona's points of interest, shares legends, and the local history. Unwind along the way to Captain Cook's Monument in historical Kealakekua Bay for a different perspective while you enjoy a deli-style lunch and complimentary non-alcoholic drinks. If you prefer, a premium cash bar is also available. Enjoy live Hawaiian-style music and keep an eye out for spinner dolphins and other Hawaiian marine life!
