WHAT YOU VISIT
Kochi Municipal Museum
Located near the birthplace of Sakamoto Ryoma, who's credited with helping to lead feudal Japan into an imperial nation, the museum's dioramas and exhibits detail the town's history as well as the lineage of Sakamoto's family.

Ryoma Post Office
Japan's only post office to be named after a person, the post office boasts an extensive exhibit of Sakamoto Ryoma memorabilia, including figurines, letters and photographs. A fun souvenir is to send a letter from here that's hand-stamped with a special emblem featuring a representation of Kochi's beloved son.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
During your guided walk through Kochi, you'll stroll past a number of historical sites related to Ryoma including the Heneno Training Hall, where he studied martial arts training as a teenager, and the site of the former Kawada Shoryu School, named for the renowned Japanese painter and Ryoma's friend.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As you traverse the city, you'll pass the Suitengu Shrine, dedicated to the guardian of water and children; the former residence of Chojiro Kondo, a school friend and later principal in one of Ryoma's companies; and a former pawnshop and money exchange building, which is now a tearoom where fans of Sakamoto Ryoma frequently gather.

This tour is guided in Japanese only. Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy walking shoes. Not recommended for guests with limited mobility. This tour uses shuttle bus, not private bus, for bothway.
