Rainforest Canoe & Nature Trail Adventure
Once at the shoreline of Lake Harriet Hunt, you'll be outfitted with a life jacket and poncho then board a 37-foot Native-style canoe that's fast, stable and easy to maneuver. Paddling under the direction of an experienced guide, you can scan the shore for wildlife and learn about the natural and Native history of the Ketchikan area. Back on shore, you'll set out on a short nature hike with your guide who'll share his knowledge of the forest's flora and fauna including the sundew, a carnivorous plant that uses tentacles with an adhesive "dew" to ensnare small insects. Before returning to Ketchikan, you'll receive a souvenir "I Canoed Ketchikan" pin.

Whether this is your first time canoeing or you're an old pro, the scenery you'll paddle through is so breathtaking, you may find it indescribable so have your camera handy so you can show the folks back home.

Surrounded by the great outdoors, you'll be treated to a snack and beverage.

Your adventure begins with a narrated drive with a guide who is well trained to share highlights of local history and culture. Watch through your window as you pass through Tongass National Forest, the largest intact temperate rainforest in the world, and home to a majestic array of islands, mountains, forests, glaciers, salmon streams, fjords and bays.
