Complete instruction, in-water supervision and entertaining narrative make this award-winning excursion suitable for beginners and experienced snorkelers alike.

Your excursion begins with a short drive from the pier to the snorkel shop, where you'll slip into your wetsuit in the comfort of a heated dressing room. You'll be toasty warm in this state-of-the-art, ¼-inch (7mm) wetsuit complete with hood, boots and gloves as you hover among Alaska's diverse and colorful marine life. Thanks to long summer days and the lack of glaciers in this area, water temperatures reach a surprising 65 degrees Fahrenheit in summer.

Mountain Point is southeast Alaska's premier snorkeling destination. The shallow tide pools teem with marine life and steep underwater rock walls allow for free diving. Your guides, highly trained PADI professionals, equip you with prescription masks, Scubapro Twin Jet fins and optional weight belts for free diving.

Together, you'll climb down a rocky slope to the shore and enter the water from a protected beach. You'll observe and handle a variety of multicolored sea stars, urchins, sea cucumbers and the giant sunflower star during this one-hour guided marine-life tour. You'll discover the myriad of fish and colorful invertebrates that inhabit these waters while you snorkel over a kelp forest.

Back at the shop, you'll enjoy a hot beverage before returning to your ship.

Special Notes:

Guests must be reasonably fit and weigh between 80 lbs. and 260 lbs. (36kg to 118kg) to ensure proper wetsuit fit. Maximum age to participate is 70 years. Tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility as participants must be able to walk unassisted over uneven and slippery rocks to enter/exit the water. Bring a swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit and a towel. Medical history may restrict participation in the tour. Guests with a history of seizures, dizziness, fainting, heart condition or respiratory problems will be restricted from tour participation. Contact Tour Office for more details.

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must have a signed parental consent form to participate without a parent or guardian.

Medical Restriction:
