WHAT YOU SEE
Zodiac Through George Inlet Fjords
Jump in the captain's seat for an exciting, scenic look at the tiny coves and uninhabited inlets of George Inlet. Zodiacs, rigid-hulled inflatable boats that offer both speed and agility, vary from four-passenger to six-passenger and are self-driven. Upon arrival by van at the retired Beaver Falls Salmon Cannery, knowledgeable guides will lead you through a safety briefing. After bundling up in rain gear, rubber boots and a life jacket, you'll step inside the sturdy Zodiac and follow your guide on a course that's best suited for the day's conditions. As you cruise through the mountainous terrain, lush forest, and pristine scenery, the lead guide will share the rich stories of the loggers from the timber years, and stories from the nearby fishing camps. Routes may vary upon the tide levels but can include a zip up to the mouth of Mahoney Glacial Cirque, Mahoney Asche Mine, Coon Cove, and White River Cove. Be sure to bring a camera, layered clothing, comfortable walking shoes and a sense of adventure on this true Ketchikan experience!
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
From the natural sounds of the flowing waterfalls to the hidden coves, keep your eyes open for active wildlife including bald eagles, harbor seals, Sitka black-tail deer, black bears, and salmon streams.
SNACKS
A flight of locally crafted beers, hot chocolate, coffee, and a snack of cheese and reindeer sausage await all of the seafarers back at the cannery. Be sure to bring a camera, layered clothing, comfortable walking shoes and a sense of adventure on this true Ketchikan experience!
