Watch, catch and learn about the Alaska wild salmon on this exciting 3.5-hour adventure. No small boat or fear of seasickness, this is a family-friendly fishing experience suitable for children ages 6 and up. A motorcoach transport brings you to a salmon hatchery, where you'll embark on a tour of the facility, watch salmon swim upstream in the man-made fish ladder and learn more about salmon lifecycle and their role in Alaska history and cuisine. Then, head to the shore (or dock) and grab a rod and reel. With a little instruction, you'll be casting like a pro, even if you are a beginner. Enjoy a two-hour fishing experience, take in the beautiful natural surroundings, chat with Alaskan locals and pose for photos with your fish – the ultimate souvenir. Arrangements can even be made to ship your catch home. The tour concludes back at your ship in downtown Juneau.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 6. Bring appropriate outdoor clothing. Please remember you are purchasing the opportunity to catch fish, not a guarantee of doing so. Tour starts mid May. All safety equipment and fishing gear is provided. Some early morning or early evening departures may not visit the interior of the hatchery but guests will still see the fish ladder and learn about the hatchery operations.

A fishing license is required and can be purchased from the tour operator for $15 cash per person and $15 for a king salmon stamp, when required. Children under 16 are not required to purchase a license.

Your catch can be processed and shipped home for an additional charge as arranged by the tour operator. Because of its perishable nature and U.S. Customs regulations, your catch may not be sent outside of the United States in most cases. Due to federal regulations, your catch may not be stored onboard your cruise ship.
