What you will visit:

Interactive Self-Guided Jeep Tour
Jeeps are outfitted with an interactive digital guide that provides both navigation and background information on the sites you will be visiting. The guide is GPS integrated, so it can estimate the amount of time it will take a guest to arrive at a given destination. The 4x4 Jeep Wrangler is a two-door vehicle with four seatbelts. All vehicles have an easy-lift soft top that can be placed up or down depending on the guests' preference.

Gold Creek
Thousands of prospectors rushed to Gold Creek and nearby Last Chance Basin Mine in the late 1800s in the hopes of striking it rich. It is here that Richard Harris and Joe Juneau hit the jackpot in 1880. All Jeeps are equipped with gold pans, sifters, trowels, tweezers and vials to take home any riches found.

Mendenhall Glacier
Formed during the Little Ice Age, which began about 3,000 years ago, the Mendenhall Glacier is fed from an icefield high above Juneau. Mendenhall Glacier has been able to survive much longer than other glaciers in North America. You will find the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center (admission not included in tour) built into a cliff above the valley.

Shrine of St. Therese
Overlooking Lynn Canal and set against the backdrop of the Chilkat Mountains, the picturesque Shrine of St. Therese, dedicated to the patron saint of Alaska, sits on a tiny tidal island and is constructed out of local beach stones.

Eagle Beach
The Eagle Beach State Recreation Area, approximately 27 miles from Juneau, is a spectacular 600-acre stretch of coastline that offers hiking, biking, birdwatching and more. When the tide rolls out, colorful sea glass and knotted driftwood can be found on the shore. It is an excellent spot to watch for bald eagles and the occasional bear foraging for food.

What you will see along the way:
Alaska's capital city, Juneau, offers an array of sights as you travel between venues. Accessible only by air or by water, Juneau has retained the charm of the era when prospectors arrived more than 100 years ago.

Special Notes:

Price is per vehicle - only one guest per party should book this excursion. We do not match independent passengers to create groups for private vehicles so your companions must be of your choosing. The Jeep can accommodate up to 4 adults but is recommended for 2 guests as the rear seats are only accessible by climbing over the front seats and most car seats are too large for this vehicle type. Drivers must have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old. All tours include the interactive digital guide, fuel, unlimited mileage, gold panning equipment, umbrellas, ponchos and car seats. Insurance is included. Entrance fees for attractions are not included. Guests wanting to pan for gold at Gold Creek will need to walk down a modest gravel grade to reach the creek. Included on tour are gold pans, sifters, trowels, and keep sake vials. Please note there are no headsets provided. The guide broadcasts over the Jeep's speakers. The iPad is mounted to the center console for easy access and includes approximately four hours of narrative along with music at the end.

Tour timeline may vary to avoid overcrowding, etc.
