Palehua Trail Nature Walk
Private property with exclusive access only, the opportunity to hike the pristine trail at Palehua is a real treat. The trail (marked as moderate) is strewn with wildflowers and carved into the Waianae Mountain Range on sacred Hawaiian ground. It offers sweeping, unobstructed sea vistas, as well as views of Pearl Harbor, Honolulu and Diamond Head from 2,400 feet above the sea. As you trek through the forest, your naturalist guide will bring to life the rich culture and history of the Hawaiian people and their relationship to this beloved land.

Ko Hana Distillery
Nearly a thousand years ago, the first Polynesians to arrive on the Hawaiian Islands brought with them treasured varieties of Ko, sugarcane renowned for its sweetness and earthy flavor. Ko Hana Distillers, home of Ko Hana Hawaiian Agricole Rum, pays homage to the cane's heritage by hand-harvesting and distilling it to perfection. A tour of the facility introduces the process to produce one of the world's finest pure cane rums, meticulously crafted from farm to bottle, and concludes with a tasting session.

What you will see along the way:
Gaze out the window during this scenic 60-minute drive from Honolulu pier to the Palehua trailhead as you drive to the Waianae Mountain Range. Towering at 4,000 feet, dramatic Waianae is the oldest of the two volcanoes making up the island of Oahu. With exclusive access, your hike takes you to the uplands of Waianae for stellar views of Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Diamond Head, and Oahu's west coast.

Snack/Tasting:
Your hike includes a snack box with such items as granola bars, fig bars, trail mix, fruit snacks and potato chips. During the rum tasting, you'll sample a variety, including white, dark, and one coffee- and chocolate-infused rum. Depending on inventory, guests may also be able to try locally sourced rum cake and rum-infused honey. Lunch is available to purchase at your own expense.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 1 year, minimum height is 2' and minimum weight is 20 lbs. Children under 3 years must be in a backpack carrier. Must be 21 years old with photo ID to participate in rum tasting. Guests should wear closed-toe walking shoes,a hat, sunscreen, and a light sweatshirt or jacket. Participants must be able to walk over uneven, muddy, or slippery terrain and ascend and descend 70 stairs. Not recommended for those with back or neck problems or for pregnant women.
