Board your air-conditioned vehicle for the approximately 30-minute drive to Diamond Head during which your guide will provide you with a brief route orientation. Then set out on the walk to the summit, traveling paths, a well-lit tunnel and steep stairways to the summit of Diamond Head. En route your guide regales you with tales of Hawaiian, geological and natural history. Learn the origins of the name "Diamond Head." Enjoy time at the summit to take in the sweeping views of Oahu, Waikiki and Honolulu. Your hike includes a Certificate of Achievement for your successful summit.
Special Notes:
Minimum age is 5. Passengers are required to walk on uneven but maintained paths, negotiate a lighted 235-foot-long tunnel and climb two steep stairways (77 steps & 99 steps respectively) to reach the summit of Diamond Head. The roundtrip walk is approximately 1.5 miles and features an elevation gain of 561 feet.Wear comfortable walking shoes and warm-weather clothing suited to the day's conditions. Bring a hat, sunglasses and adequate sun protection.
