WHAT YOU VISIT

MA'O Organic Farm
Surrounded by lush natural beauty, the 25-acre farm in the Waianae area of Oahu was recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama as a successful model for increasing awareness of and access to healthy eating options. MA'O, which stands for mala (garden) ʻai (food) ʻopio (youth), or youth food garden, was founded as a non-profit organization to restore the relationship between the land and the people. A walk through the fields of leafy greens and vegetables ends with a sampling of the fruit of their labors.

Trail Hike
Hike on a new trail on the mountain ridge at Palehua uplands. As you make your way through a verdant forest to a breathtaking overlook, a naturalist guide will share legends of the land and history of Hawaii.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
At an elevation of 2,400 feet above sea level, the overlook boasts sweeping views of Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, and Diamond Head.

APPETIZERS
Savor a scenic sunset from a private location up on the ridge at Palehua. Watch the sunset as you indulge in a relaxing appetizer picnic of assorted fruits, veggies, freshly-made hummus dip and pita bread, cheese, salami, and Kalamata olives served up with iced tea, sparkling flavored water and filtered water.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Experience the volcanic Waianae mountains as you make your way from sea level to the forest mountains above on the island's west side.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 1 year, minimum height is 2' and minimum weight is 20 lbs. Children under 3 years must be in a backpack carrier. Guests should wear closed-toe walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a light sweatshirt or jacket. Participants must be able to walk over uneven, muddy, or slippery terrain and ascend-descend 70 stairs. Not recommended for those with back or neck problems or for pregnant women. Not available on Sundays.
