What you will visit:

Nutridge Estate Luau
Home of Hawaii's first macadamia nut plantation, the graceful Nutridge Estate has entertained celebrities from Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe to Elvis Presley, no doubt drawn to its magical setting. When you arrive, an oli - or Hawaiian chant - is performed to welcome everyone to the historic estate. Discover the agricultural history of the area and Hawaiian culture through hands-on experiences and Makahiki games, including 'o 'o ihe (spear throwing) and ulu maika (Hawaiian lawn bowling), and help to build an imu (Hawaiian underground oven). Then, delight in an intimate backyard-style luau experience filled with authentic music and dance as well as stories (molelo) about the history of luau.

What you will see along the way:
Your lovely evening begins with a narrated highlights tour of the history and heritage of downtown Honolulu and surrounding areas. It's a one-hour drive to the heritage property of Nutridge. Enjoy views of Pu'u 'Ualaka'a State Park on your way in and enter through a yellow gate to follow the road to the estate. During the luau, the sunset views are stellar as are the lights of Honolulu as the sun fades.

Dinner:
A delicious, farm-to-table buffet dinner sets this luau apart. Guests have the opportunity to participate with setting up the authentic imu (underground oven) and will be served their first plate of food - paying homage to traditional Hawaiian hospitality. The buffet will then remain open throughout the evening. A sample dinner menu includes: all-you-can-eat authentic imu-prepared Kalua pork, pulehu (broiled over a fire) BBQ chicken, Hawaiian pork/sweet potato laulau (taro or ti leaf), white rice, Nalo greens, and desserts. Two complimentary alcoholic (standard) drinks are included for guests at least 21 years of age.

Special Notes:

Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes, light jacket and sunglasses. Umbrellas and ponchos are provided. Some walking over slightly hilly terrain is required. Dietary restrictions require a 48-hour notice to the onboard Tour Office.
