Join Oahu's most experienced eco-tour company on an exciting circle island tour that will satisfy your senses and provide excellent photo opportunities. Hawaii is the only state where cacao is grown and at your first stop, Wailua Sugar Mill, you will be presented with a special coffee tasting of the rare and aromatic Oahu-grown coffee. Learn about Dole Corporations locally produced cacao, which they make into a superb dark or milk chocolate.

Drive through the colorful art and surfing town of Haleiwa and then along the scenic North Shore coastline past scenic, Sharks Cove and Sunset Beach. Next you visit Kahuku Farms and Country Café for a delicious lunch that is included with your tour. Experience a guided walk at one of Oahu's most beautiful farms on the North Shore and learn about the history, people and crops of this special place. Kahuku Farms is the result of two farming families spanning back three generations who are descendants of migrants to Hawaii from Japan and worked in the sugar plantations back in the 1900s.

The delicious chocolate made from the cacao beans is sensual, sweet and a known mood enhancer. It has been found to lower blood pressure, contain antioxidants and inhibits LDL, or "bad", cholesterol. Cacao is a rare crop on Oahu, with only 50 acres of trees in four locations on the island.

After traveling along the scenic windward coast of Oahu, you will arrive at the Manoa Chocolate Factory where you can observe and follow the production of our distinctively tempting island chocolate. Chocolate is made with cacao purchased directly from organic farm cooperatives in Mexico and Hawaii. The cacao is then crafted from bean to bar in small batches. The resident "Chocolate Flavormeister" will show you how chocolate is made from the beans by carefully crushing, winnowing and conching this delicate cacao into a rich smooth chocolate reminiscent of the South Pacific.

Throughout your tour, your nature guide will provide a fascinating narration about Hawaii's agriculture, bird and plant species, geology, history and culture.

Special Notes:

Guests should be able to walk over various terrains and stairs. This tour is not able to accommodate guests with walkers, wheelchairs or scooters. Tour is not available on Tuesdays as it's a working day on the farm.
