Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

One of the best ways to see this beautiful island's unique, dramatic and breathtaking landscape is from the seat of an all-terrain vehicle. So if you live for outdoor adventure, this 90-minute excursion is calling you. To make your experience even more enjoyable, be sure to wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Plus, there will be plenty of photo stops and spectacular viewpoints so be sure to bring a camera to capture every memorable moment.

Please be aware that the minimum age to drive is 18 and an international driving license is required.

Your revved-up adventure begins with a five-minute walk from the pier to the nearby ATV station. After you arrive you'll meet your guide for a short safety briefing and instructions. Then, you'll don your helmet and gloves, hop on your ATV built for two and follow your guide through Honningsvag.

Adding to the eerie, otherworldly scene is the never-ending glow of the midnight sun, which can be seen in the North Cape area from the middle of May until the end of July.

As you make your way across the bleak, barren, tundra-covered landscape don't be surprised if you see a reindeer or two. In fact, during summer, 4,000 to 5,000 reindeer graze here. The reindeer are domesticated and belong to the Sami people, a minority group living primarily in the county of Finnimark.

No tour would be complete without a photo stop at a scenic viewpoint so have your camera ready to take amazing photos to show the folks back home what they're missing (it's also a perfect time to let your companion take the wheel, if you prefer).

Soon, you'll follow your guide up Honningsvagfjellet, also called NATO Mountain due to the military base located at the top.

Once at the summit, you'll stop and soak up the jaw-dropping views of Honningsvag and Porsanger Peninsula, which lies along the western shore of the 76-mile-long Porsangerfjord.

Photos taken, you'll jump back on your ATV and begin your return ride to your waiting ship in Honningsvag. En route, you'll travel past the charming neo-Gothic church that dates back to 1885.

Back in Honningsvag, you'll return to the ATV station, return your gear and walk back to your ship, ready and eager to begin another adventure.

Special Notes:

Please note each ATV hold 2 guests. Midway through the ride they will have the opportunity to switch drivers if they like.

All participants wishing to drive the ATV's must bring a valid driving license with them on this tour.
