Embark on a close encounter of the wild kind as you visit Kroschel Wildlife Center. This is a guaranteed wildlife tour offering the chance to see Alaska animals such as a Kodiak bear, wolf and wolverines with great photo opportunities. The towering Cathedral Peaks and Chilkat Mountains provide a scenic backdrop as your bus follows the route of the Chilkat River along the Haines Scenic Byway through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Steve Kroschel has a lifetime of experience working with wild animals for movies such as "Never Cry Wolf" and the PBS "Wild America" series. His center provides a home for numerous orphaned and rescued wild animals including a Kodiak bear, wolf, Arctic fox, lynx, porcupine, pine marten, mink, reindeer and wolverines to live out the rest of their natural lives. This is an interactive wildlife center at Steve's private property, allowing you to touch many of the animals and learn their habits and gain an understanding of the time and trust required to train them.

Special Notes:

The trip requires standing for an extended period of time as well as walking a quarter mile on groomed trails, a steep driveway and uneven terrain. Not recommended for guests with limited mobility or breathing problems.
