Experience a limited, but quintessential Alaska adventure with an opportunity to get an up-close view of hungry bruins dining on salmon during the evening in the Chilkoot Valley. This first-hand look at the food chain in action is only offered during salmon spawning season in August.

Board your expedition bus for a scenic, narrated drive along the fertile Chilkoot Valley, nestled between rugged glaciers and snowcapped mountains.

Naturalists will take you to the sheltered valley of the Chilkoot River. As the sun slowly sets, bears may descend on the river, leaving the cover of the forest to forage along the grassy banks. You'll be able to witness thousands of salmon as they make their journey back to the waters of their birth past hungry bruins. From the protection of your bus, you may have the opportunity to see nature's best salmon fisherman wade into the river for their evening meal.
