Outdoor enthusiasts will thrill to the opportunity to explore up close and personal from a Voyageur canoe the magnificent wildlife and scenic wonders that can be found along the Chilkoot Lake. This half-day expedition begins with a guided motorcoach ride from downtown Haines leading to the Lutak Inlet and the Chilkoot River Valley. After a safety briefing and instruction, climb aboard the paddle- and motor-operated canoe and set off on your adventure. Voyageur canoes are stable, comfortable and quiet, excellent for observing wildlife. Numerous photo opportunities abound, and you'll want to keep your eyes out for bald eagles, mountain goats, brown bears and spawning salmon. Onboard naturalists share their knowledge of the Alaska wilderness. Glide along coves, inlets and streams and marvel at the plunging waterfalls. A beachside picnic lunch is served beside Lynn Fjord at the completion of the tour. The motorcoach will return you to the pier.

Special Notes:

Dress warmly in layers. Wildlife sightings are common but not guaranteed. This is a physical activity and participants should be able to paddle.

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.
