Guernsey West Coast Cycle Tour

What you will visit:
A bicycle excursion suitable for casual flat ground cyclists, and a favourite with families (child prices available), you'll join an experienced guide for an in-depth tour of Guernsey. From the pier, you will board the mini-bus en route to the west coast bay of Perelle. Here your guide will supply you with helmets and brief you on the use of the bicycles, cycle paths and roads in Guernsey, allowing you time to practice.

What you will see along the way:
The route will take you from Perelle through Catioroc. Enjoy cycling through the protected area of Shingle Banks, Lihou Island and the Colin Best Nature Reserve before reaching the magnificent L'Eree Bay. Stop and explore the numerous World War II-era bunkers built during the German occupation. Continue along the quiet seafront at Rocquaine with its views out to Les Hanois Lighthouse. After a refreshment stop at Portelet (at guest's expense), you'll head inland on wildflower-strewn tiny lanes where horses and bicycles take priority over motor traffic. On your return to Perelle, you may stop to view the dolmen, a megalithic tomb, at Le Creux es Faies or maybe St. Appolines Chapel with its medieval mural.

Special Notes:

Participation is very limited; book early to avoid disappointment. This tour normally sells out in advance of the cruise.

The cycling distance on this tour is approximately six miles. Passengers ride at their own risk and should be in good physical condition. Due to traffic conditions in St. Peter Port, it is recommended that experienced cyclists should participate on this tour.

While the tour primarily travels the island's more level roads, there are hill climbs and descents. Dress appropriately and carry a backpack with some spare clothing in case of wet weather.
