WHAT YOU VISIT
- Dougaldston Spice Estate
This historic plantation still grows and processes spices the old-fashioned way. During your visit, you'll see cocoa, nutmeg, mace, cloves, and other spices laid out on giant racks drying in the sun.
- Gouyave Nutmeg Station
One of the largest nutmeg processing factories on the island. Witness row after row of drying racks covered with the fruit of nutmeg trees descended from the first ones planted here by the British in 1843.
- Grand Etang Lake
Situated 1,700 feet above sea level, the lake's azure waters rests inside one of Grenada's extinct volcanoes. The rainforest around the lake holds a treasure trove of flora and fauna including colorful tropical birds, tiny frogs and lizards, and rare orchids.
- Annandale Falls
One of Grenada's most accessible waterfalls is noted for its lush greenery. Enrobed in ferns, trees, and hanging vines, the falls cascade 32 feet over rocks into a deep pool.
- Fort Frederick
The best preserved of all the Grenadian forts, the French began the construction of Fort Frederick in 1779 and the British completed it 12 years later. Nicknamed the "backwards facing fort," you'll note that the cannons face inland instead of out to sea. The fort was abandoned in 1850 until it was later occupied by the Grenadian military.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

After you walk under its grand arches, you can look southward onto the town of St. George's and admire the pretty harbor and Georgian buildings in the Carenage and northward to the rolling mountain ridges that are covered in lush vegetation and quaint houses.
SHOPPING
Not only can you smell the fragrant spices hovering in the air but you can also purchase them by the bag after touring the Dougaldston Spice Estate. At the end of your Gouyave Nutmeg Station tour, explore Nutmeg World for packaged spices, clothing and other locally made tokens.
