What you will visit:
Cockburn Town
The seat of government for the islands since 1766, Cockburn Town showcases historic 18th- to 19th-century Bermudian architecture that lines its charming long, narrow streets. Popular landmarks include the Victoria Public Library, built during Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887; St. Mary's Anglican Church, built in 1899 with its whitewashed exterior punctuated with bright red shutters; and the 200-year-old Turks Head Inn. The HM Prison, National Museum and lively marketplace display colorful souvenirs and handicrafts, and a plethora of authentically local eating establishments can be found coexisting with the indigenous wildlife, such as plodding donkeys and spectacular birds, that populate the town.

Photo Opportunity:
Grand Turk Lighthouse
Built in 1852 at the northernmost tip of the island, this significant landmark, a 150-year-old working lighthouse, was transported piece by piece to the island from Britain. Both it and the lighthouse keeper's house are designated as historic sites by the National Trust. Picture-perfect views stretch out from the scenic limestone bluffs.

What you will see along the way:
Scenic Drive
Your island drive takes in many highlights, including Waterloo, built in 1815 and today the home to His Excellency the Governor, the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout your island drive, view several 18th-century churches; beautiful old Bermudian-style architecture; heritage churches and old cannons; tree lined Duke Street, nestled in the heart of Cockburn Town; the salinas, a remnant of the salt producing days; and many wild horses and donkeys freely roaming the streets.

John Glenn Space Capsule
The first American to orbit the earth, John Glenn splashed into the waters off the coast of Grand Turk and relaxed on the island for several days after his historic flight. Drive by the former United States Air Force facility where the astronaut was debriefed in 1962 after his historic space flight and spy a replica of Glenn's Friendship 7 space capsule, a piece of American history.
