WHAT YOU VISIT
Rastafari Village
Immerse yourself in the colorful culture of Rastafari, a religious and political movement that developed in Jamaica in the 1930s. Discover its origins and how Rastafari embodies the spirit of all living things when you visit a nearby village. After a ride to the mountains, you'll disembark and walk across a stream for a greeting by the locals. After the river crossing, as you approach the village, you'll hear the traditional drumming and chanting getting louder and the natural smell of the wood fire pit and herbs garden. Once in the Village, you'll be surrounded by the Rastafarian life in motion and will see the principles of living in harmony with nature. Join in fun, hands-on activities like jewelry design, drum carving, soap-making and more as you gain a unique understanding of the history and beliefs of this storied movement. Then, you'll get to play along in an inspiring drum circle with the talented musicians of the village.
