Sand Point
Take in the diverse scenery of the Falkland Islands from Sand Point, a peaceful locale with rugged, wild beauty nestled along the north coast of Lorenzo Farm. A 4x4 vehicle takes you along the quiet coastline, home to abundant wildlife. The landowners will welcome and escort you to an active penguin colony to see gentoo, Magellan and perhaps even king penguins. Sea Point also boasts 23 different species of breeding birds and eight species of migratory birds.


Whalebone Cemetery
An eerie display of giant cetacean skeletons was created as an anti-whaling campaign, designed to display the magnificence of these animals. Visit one of the largest whale-bone cemeteries in the world and photograph the outer-worldly landscape.


What you will see along the way:

Your journey to Sand Point begins when you travel along the island's main network of roads, winding through the dramatic Falklands landscape and gazing upon the geological stone runs, catalogued by Charles Darwin himself. Take in the vast scenic wonder of North Falkland's coastline en route to the secluded and picturesque Sand Point. To make your adventure even more pleasurable, be sure to wear warm, layered clothing, gloves, and a hat. Lace up your hiking boots and bring along a camera to capture every memorable moment.

Special Notes:

Inappropriate for pregnant women and those with neck/back and mobility issues. The drive is over extremely rough terrain in 4x4 vehicles. Transit time to site is approximately 1.5 hours. It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion. Outer layer should be waterproof and windproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, and penguin colonies can be seasonal.
