WHAT YOU VISIT
Named for a schooner that ran aground in the shallows, this resplendent bay boasts picture-worthy wildlife encounters and an endless supply of rocky, wind-swept terrain. From the ship, a minibus will transport you to nearby Hadassa Bay, where your three-and-a-half mile-long nature trek begins. Your expert local guide will distribute a tour-specific illustrated checklist and give a general background to Falkland birds and what you might expect to see on this tour: dark faced ground tyrants, Falkland thrush, upland geese, long-tailed meadowlark, Falkland flightless steamer duck, rock cormorants, southern giant petrels, sooty shearwaters, Magellanic penguins, black-throated finch and up to as many as 30 other species.
The abundance of birds at Hadassa Bay is a photographer's dream. Set against a background of clear, blue sky and sparkling blue water, you're sure to have a myriad of photo opps. The birds are free to roam; many of the are tame and will "pose" for photos.
