Celebrate enchanting Edinburgh on a narrated drive highlighting its principal attractions. Board your motorcoach for a scenic drive to Edinburgh. Alive with culture and history, the capital of Scotland is a thriving UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide takes you through the New Town area, where elegant Georgian buildings and contemporary design abounds. Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping district, bustles with activity. You'll visit Old Town, where a plethora of historic sites and monuments line the famed Royal Mile, Edinburgh's oldest and most historical street. Follow this world-famous route from the magnificent Holyrood Palace all the way to Edinburgh Castle. Here, you'll encounter an uphill walk from the coach park to the castle entrance, over cobbled surfaces which are uneven in places. Enter the superb fortress complex and allow your guide to orient you to all that can be seen on the grounds. You will explore the interior rooms and the grounds independently. Then, return to your motorcoach for a scenic drive back to the ship or remain in Edinburgh to sightsee and return to the ship on your own.
Special Notes:There may be an uphill walk of approximately 300 meters over cobblestones and uneven terrain to reach the castle.
Please expect lines and random bag checks at the entrance to the castle for security purposes. During peak times you will experience queues to visit exhibits and some areas within the castle. Bags over 30L will not be allowed into the venue.
In August, motor vehicle access to Holyrood Palace and sections of the Royal Mile may be restricted or not possible at short notice.
Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
