Dating from the early years of French settlement in the 1720s, Bois Cotlette is the oldest surviving estate on Dominica. Your guided tour reveals why historians and archaeologists alike are so enamored with Bois Cotlette. A scenic motorcoach drive begins this three-hour adventure. Nestled in a valley within the active Morne Plat Pays volcanic complex, Bois Cotlette is the best-preserved example of plantation architecture on the island. Admire its French colonial "Maison de Maitre" and the buildings used for the processing of coffee, sugar and cocoa. Enjoy a freshly harvested and prepared drink during the estate orientation. On this interactive exploration tour, go on a fact-finding mission utilizing historical records and archaeological evidence to better understand life in a bygone era.
