Created to inspire travelers and unite them with neighboring regions, this experiential tour dives into the sea to help restore the coral reefs off Cozumel with the assistance of local marine biologists. Your three hour adventure begins with an engaging introduction by one of Cozumel's reef restoration experts, who will introduce you to coral reproduction and coral restoration concepts. A portion of your class includes an up-close and hands-on experience in coral spawning and coral fragment planting. Next, your guides will take you on a snorkel tour of spectacular coral gardens. You may also participate in beach cleanup activities. Your day is spent performing critically needed activities to help restore the fragile marine life in Cozumel. Conclude with time spent on the beach equipped with a restaurant and bar. Your lovely day of sun and under-the-sea fun supports Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration AC programs.
Special Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, hat. All sunscreens are prohibited at the tour location, rash-guards are strongly recommended. Guests are ecouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle. To avoid sunburn, bring light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Lockers available for rent, USD cash and credit cards are accepted. Minimum age to participate is 8 years old. Guests should know how to swim and snorkel. Guests with cardiac or pulmonary issues, or back injuries must refrain from participating. A Medical Waiver must be signed prior to participation.Participation in this activity will support the Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration program. Coral reefs are important for many reasons, aside from containing one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet, as these reefs provide a vast array of benefits to mankind in the form of goods (products) and services (functions). Proceeds go towards Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration AC programs. A Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration certificate of participation is awarded to all participants.
