Chichen Itza Ruins
This large, complex city built by the Mayan people was most active between the years 600 and 1250 A.D. Today, hundreds of structures, including massive stone pyramids, temples, and columned arcades, make up this ruined city, the core of which covers over 1.9 square miles-with additional structures ranging over an even wider area. Both a religious site and a busy urban center, Chichen Itza was a hub of trade in the region for centuries, but during the 1400s the site declined, though it is not known exactly why. Archaeologists have learned more of the original intents of the Mayan people over time, though there is still much to uncover!

What you will see along the way:
It's up and away over the wild blue yonder in your modern and well maintained Cessna airplane flying over the sparkling Caribbean Sea and the dense vegetation of the Yucatan jungle. You'll arrive just 10 minutes from the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. Your return flight continues to take in the dazzling views of the stunning Yucatan Peninsula.

Key structures you won't want to miss include the impressive Temple of Kukulkan, or El Castillo, which demonstrates the advanced astronomical skills of the Mayan people and is designated as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!

Special Notes:

This tour involves a considerable amount of walking and standing for approximately 1.1 miles, at times over uneven and natural surfaces. To participate in this tour, guests need to be able to negotiate a few stairs to get on/off the van and board/reboard the plane. This tour is not suitable for guests with fear of heights, guests prone to motion sickness, suffering from claustrophobia, with limited mobility, or guests who use a wheelchair. Maximum weight is 250 lbs.
