Step aboard a custom-made beach buggy and follow the leader on a scenic off-road expedition down the coastline of spectacular Costa Maya on the Yucatan Peninsula and through the lush emerald-green vegetation. Soak up views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea on one side. There's no better way to explore the region surrounding the port town of Costa Maya aboard a four-person dune buggy sharing the fun and freedom of the ride in a caravan of friendly, fellow travelers with an expert guide taking the lead and another one picking up the rear.

You'll depart from the cruise ship pier after a safety briefing and make your way to the enchanting fishing village of Mahahual. Make a stop at the lighthouse and glimpse over the grass thatched palapas to gaze out upon the coral reef known as Banco Chinchorro that is located just off shore. Your experienced native guide will gather all the members of the group together on the beach and deliver a fascinating cultural speech that will bring ancient Mayan mysteries to life. Enjoy the personal insights of a native Maya into one of the world's great civilizations with memories of the region's ancestors: fishermen, merchants, warriors and poets.

After a lively Q&A session, get back in your buggy and continue your tour to Cacum's Beach for a secluded beach break. All the facilities are available so kick back in a hammock, enjoy a complimentary snack of tortilla chips and freshly made pico de gallo with water or a soft drink. You can go for a swim in the balmy Caribbean Sea, play a rowdy game of beach volleyball, lay back and soap up the sun's rays or take a stroll along the powder-soft sands. After the beach party, it is time to head on home so you'll get ready to make the scenic drive back along the shore. Special Notes:

This tour is sold by the buggy. Please book tour by buggy and not per passenger. Each buggy can accommodate up to four people. All drivers must present a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old. Minimum age to accompany is 3 years old. Vehicles are manual transmission. Not recommended for passengers suffering from back, neck or respiratory ailments. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel and adequate sun protection. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver.

Medical Restriction:

Pregnant women, guests with back or neck injuries, guests with a history of seizures, recent surgery, heart & respiratory conditions are not allowed to participate for safety reasons
